Another way to help.

I just submitted my application to become a transporter for Ahimsa House.

Ahimsa is sanskrit and can be translated to mean, "do no harm". Ahimsa House is an organization in Georgia that helps victims of domestic violence and abuse get their pets to safety so that they, in turn, can get themselves to safety. Please visit their website to learn all about this wonderful organization! https://ahimsahouse.org/

It is such an important service and it wasn't until I read through their webpage that I realized they only operated in the state of Georgia. I truly thought it would be a national organization. I'm sure other states have similar groups, or subsets of groups, working toward this end, but Ahimsa House seems to be leading the way. I think Georgia is very lucky to have them.

There are several ways the public can help this organization, even if you're not local! I live over 4 hours away from their headquarters and hope to help driving pets around the state to their safe haven or back to their owners who have fled from abuse. Since I share all of my transports on this blog, for these transports I intend to be deliberately vague. These people and their pets are in real danger, so their identities and locations will remain confidential. (Of course, the application requires this and I've submitted to a police background check as well!) Why share at all, you ask? Well, I think it's important to spotlight that this good work is taking place, and there is a way to do it and keep those using the service safe.

I'm so looking forward to being able to use transport to help this vital organization. Please consider what you could do. If not for Ahimsa House, perhaps a similar group near you?
