Anchors Aweigh Animal Transport started in July 2018 as a not-at-all-formed idea. Just the inkling that transporting animals out of high kill shelters and into rescues and forever homes was potentially a way to make an impact. Since then, AAAT has become a trusted member of the animal rescue community, heavily relied upon to conduct these life-saving trips. Anchors Aweigh Animal Transport is proud to have forged partnerships with over 50 shelters and rescues, driven over 150,000 miles, and helped to save the lives of over 1500 cats and dogs (and counting!) who might otherwise have not had a chance at a happily ever after! It is clear that our efforts make a difference to each individual life that rides with us, but our local and regional communities benefit from transport as well. Moving animals out of over crowded shelters lessens the strain on facility resources and helps to lower shelter euthanasia rates.

Anchors Aweigh Animal Transport partners with shelters, rescues, community care-givers, and rehabbers to connect animals in need with forever/foster homes, no-kill shelters, and clinics where they will receive the love and care they require. We are honored to be a part of their journey, and are committed to ensuring their time on board with us is "smooth sailing"!
