Amuse bouche

Yesterday, I did-what I would consider-my 2nd "real" transport.

A small, rural, shelter about an hour from my home base received a little black cat they thought was hit by a car. Our amazing regional networking group, "The Underground Tailroad" put out the APB and Tabby Tales Rescue answered the call.  Since I'm a Tabby Tales volunteer and am thinking about becoming a transport non-profit, I jumped into action to snatch this little one and bring him into the safety of rescue.

There are three rural shelters all in the same region that do not offer public adoptions. They do not have the staff or resources. So, the only option (to get out alive) for the animals that find themselves there is to be pulled out by a rescue group. The Underground Tailroad does an exceptional job at getting the pictures of all the animals in need out in front of the eyes of regional rescues. The shelter staff are wonderful about doing what they can to collect temperament and health info on all the animals. There are a dedicated group of folks (of which, I guess, I am one now) that will pick up these animals from the shelters and deliver them to their new rescues. "It takes a village", as they say. Driving these animals is, very literally, life-saving work. 💕

Welcome to Tabby Tales, little dude. You're safe.
