I did a thing...

I think I'm on to something. Today I drove 5 cats from Savannah to Atlanta so they could hop onto a transport van headed for New England.

Soothing, ambient music for my furry passengers!
Loaded up in my car.

2018 has been raining cats and...kittens! A seemingly unprecedented number of litters are flooding communities in the southeast. "Kitten season" started in January (it's usually ~March) and there are no signs it will let up anytime soon. Area shelters and rescues are overwhelmed and desperate to find ways to stem the tide of cat overpopulation while reducing inordinately high euthanasia rates.

Transport seems to be a useful tool in this kit. I had so much fun doing this and it feels like the beginning of something meaningful.

Loaded into the transport van for the long(er) haul.
Set up with everything they need for the trip.

The transport: Savannah, GA > Atlanta, GA > Savannah, GA
The mileage: ~550
The passengers: 5 cats
The destination: New England shelters
